APPOINTMENTS

Here are a few tips on what to expect

The Hen House is a fantastic multi-purpose workspace where John can assess you. We have a large studio space for rehab and an adjoining treatment room for hands on. There is also access to outside ergonomic space and fully-equipped gym.

Following your appointment, John will send you bespoke rehab exercises and education, including videos, blogs, articles and links to assist with your recovery.

Face to face and virtual appointments are available. COVID-19 screening guidelines are in place for all face to face appointments. Face masks are still being worn by patient and physiotherapist due to close contact work. Fresh air flows throughout the barn via large Velux windows.

Where video appointments are still more appropriate, you will receive a friendly, professional welcome. When you answer the call or click the link, please think of this as opening the door to my consulting room.

Video appointments can be carried out via FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc. and will last 45 minutes, so it does not matter what part of the UK or the world you live in!

Please note, for our joint safety, I will be following all up-to-date guidelines. These will be taken from Government, Public Health England, NHS, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, PhysioFirst, and Nuffield guidelines.

Appropriate clothing

Please wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and enables access to your injury or affected area. Clothing choices may include shorts or vest tops.

Fees

  • £70 for up to 45 minutes
  • £45 for 30 minutes
Longer appointments maybe recommended for appropriate conditions.

All insurance patients welcome - including Bupa, Nuffield and others.

Prices for home visits (when permitted again) charged according to time spent away from practice.

Screening

John’s experience and training has taught him to understand that injury prevention and improving performance are on the same continuum, in that the same movement patterns and good technique that stop you getting injured also enhance your performance.

John can offer an hour-long screening service that will look at your movement patterns to detect any underlying faults that may be affecting your performance in your chosen sport or occupation, whether it is a manual or desk-based job.

The screening session will include the collation of a detailed history and an assessment of muscle length, strength, and over and under activity using a series of clinical and functional tests that may involve video analysis.

Based on the results of this screening, John will give you exercises and hands-on treatment to help your avoid injury and maximise your performance.
"Thanks John, that was such a helpful session that has really helped me to understand better where I am with both my mental and physical health. Already looking forward to a little canter this evening! Just run...first time pain free in months! It feels amazing. Thank you so, SO much for helping me today. You are a star and I can’t thank you enough!"
Peter Everitt, Kingsbridge
"Thank you John, having seen numerous professionals in this country and Australia over the past few months you have been the only person to have correctly diagnosed the problem with my back which has been causing such pain and discomfort for seven months. The exercise regime you prescribed has without doubt enabled me to regain some form of normal living. Thank you."
RP, Thurlestone
